The Ivy League Rugby Championship

Teams from all eight Ivy League universities will be in attendance for the 40th annual 2008 Ivy League Rugby Championships.

The 2008 Ivy League Men's Rugby Championships will be hosted by Columbia University RFC on April 26th and 27th in New York City (see 2008 Men's Details). The 2008 championship for the women will be hosted by Brown University and held as a one-day event on April 12th (see 2008 Women's Details).

For the men, the 2004 EPRU Division I Collegiate Champions University of Pennsylvania, defending 2004 Ivy League Champions Princeton, and 2005 and 2006 champion Dartmouth will be gunning for the title. The Ivy League's other rugby teams all have a tradition of excellence in rugby including the 1984 Collegiate National Champion and 2007 Ivy League Champion Harvard University. Strong teams with a long tradition from Brown, Yale, Cornell, and Columbia look to upset the favorites.

For the women, it's Brown! Brown has a darn good shot of winning the national championship. Look for Cornell to give them a run in the semis. Like Brown, Cornell is ranked nationally. Dartmouth will be strong and UPenn is up and coming. It should be a great day!

Admission to both events are free.
