Saturday, October 2, 2010

It was a beautiful day for rugby as the Ivy League’s only undefeated (2-0) teams faced off in New Haven Connecticut. Led by the three first half tries of Paul Jarvis, defending Ivy League Champion Dartmouth improved its record to 3-0 with its 36-15 win over Yale this past Saturday.

New Haven, Conn. - Yale was geared-up for a battle, but things started poorly for the Bulldogs.

Just five minutes in, Dartmouth won a lineout and put together a driving maul that led to Paul Jarvis’s first try, that Fish converted, 7-0.

Three minutes later Jarvis scored his second try, 12-0. Yale battled back but Dartmouth collected two more tries; the first from Carl Zehner and then Jarvis’s third. Both were converted by Fish, 26-0.

Yale finally got on the board in the 28th minute when Ryan Vandersloot slotted a penalty kick from 30 meters, 26-3.
