Cornell Women Pull Out a Victory Over Penn 41-15

Cornell Women (41) at Penn Women (15)
Oct 13 2012 - 3:00pm

Penn Park in Philadelphia was where the Penn Women were hoping to land their first win...Cornell had other plans.

Penn started off strong, with a full team effort driving the ball down the field to score in the first 5 minutes of the game, which was quickly answered by Cornell who had a strong breakaway run. For the majority of the first half, the score was tied with both teams battling for possession. Cornell scored again and made their conversion in the 33rd minute, and Penn touched another one down just before the end of the half. Penn entered half time down by just 2 points.

Cornell came out strong in the second half, and Penn was unable to maintain their first half pace. Cornell was able to find holes in Penn's defense, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes of the half. While Penn had a good penalty run allowing them to score one more time, the score stayed at 24-15 for the majority of the second half. In the last 10 minutes, Cornell had an energy boost with three more unanswered tries, bringing the final score to 41-15, Cornell.
