1st XV Princeton Men at Cornell Men

Princeton Men (34) at Cornell Men (23)
Nov 12 2016 - 12:00pm

Cornell’s final game of the season was against Princeton. After an extremely tough road schedule playing four straight away games, the Big Red was looking forward to playing on friendly turf. Unfortunately, after having a substantial lead, Princeton walked away with a win after two last minute tries.

Cornell's roster consisted of seven seniors starting in their last home game. Big plays from extremely consistent forwards; John Schuler, Will Knutson and Ethan Venosa dominated the field early. Grant Wenzinger and Otto Godwin, seniors who stepped into the distributing roles at #9 and #10, took ownership of the two pivotal positions and gave a great performances all day. Senior, Mike Rothstein, new to rugby two months ago made a huge impact on the defensive side of the ball. Lastly, Ryo Inkyo, made decisive runs and excellent open field defense at fullback all season.
