PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard women's rugby team took down Princeton, 58-5, on the road Saturday. The Crimson moved to 4-1 overall, including 2-1 in Ivy League action. Jess Lu scored the only try for Princeton.

The Crimson was rolling in every aspect of the game, dominating offensively while containing the Princeton attack throughout the day. Harvard held its opponents to single digits for the third time this season, and is allowing an average of just under 10 points per contest.

Harvard jumped out to a big lead over the Tigers using a complete team effort. Multiple Crimson players helped contribute, as Harvard scored eight tries unanswered to build a 48-0 advantage.

"It was a total team effort from start to finish today", said head coach Sue Parker. "Every try was the result of effort, communities and each person executing her role".

Princeton managed to get on the scoreboard late in the contest, but the Crimson added two more tries to secure a 58-5 victory over the Tigers.

As a result of strong team play, senior Claire Collins, junior Maya Learned, sophomores Akweley Okine and Caitlin Weigel, as well as freshmen Delia Hellander and Robyn Beese touched down for tries.

With the victory, the Crimson earned home-field advantage for the Ivy League semifinal match on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Harvard women's rugby will return to action for its final regular-season matchup when it hosts Cornell at Mignone Field on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1:00 p.m.
