This fall, 2012, the Cornell Women’s Rugby team will play its first season as part of the new Ivy Rugby Conference along with the seven other traditional Ivy League schools.

The Brown Rugby 7s team will travel to Las Vegas next week to play in the Las Vegas Invitational, February 9th through February 12th. After pool play, there will be playoffs based on each team’s results. All of the matches are at Sam Boyd Stadium in East Las Vegas.

On January 22, 2012, the New England Referee Society (NERRS) awarded Dartmouth Women's Rugby the Hayes Award. Dartmouth was selected from a list of approximately 250 New England area teams.

Earlier this month, Tim Kelly, Cornell Faded Red’s Vice President of Men’s Club Affairs conducted an in-depth interview with Ron Schassburger, the new head coach of the CURFC. Ron’s rugby roots date back to 1960, and in this interview we learn of his tremendous love for the game, the pursuit of rugby perfection and the future trajectory of Cornell men’s rugby.

Pools were announced today for the Las Vegas 7s in two weeks.  Yale gets a tough draw with Indiana, Weber State and last year’s champions Central Washington. Yale has been training for the last 3 weeks working in Payne and Whitney Gym and renting indoor field space in North Branford.

Yale Men's Rugby had one of their tougher seasons in the Ivy Rugby Conference finishing 2-5 and losing a couple of close calls. The team, however, is talented, organized and primed for a quick rebound in 2012. The talented play is obvious in this well presented video.

BOULDER, Colo. – USA Rugby national team selectors have named the USA Rugby Men’s and Women’s College Sevens National Championship All-Tournament team. Dot Mittow of Princeton University selected.

The Rugby H2H tournament represents a very exciting opportunity for all of the schools and the Ivy Rugby Conference to shine the spotlight on this great competition for the Ivy student community, rugby alumni, family, sponsors, and rugby fans from around the world.

Kurt Vonnegut Cornell '44 was also known to write about sports when he was a member of The Sun news board. At least when the spirit moved him. In 1941, the Cornell rugby team was having a particularly tough time of it, and Vonnegut pointed out the problem in this column from May 1, 1941.

The Ivy Rugby Conference is not affiliated with the Council of Ivy Group Presidents ("The Ivy League"), which organizes
intercollegiate athletic competitions at the varsity level. The name "Ivy Rugby" is used with The Ivy League's permission.
