Albert Pikul, father of long-time Yale Head Coach Jan Pikul

Albert Edward Pikul ("BA"), 69, of Milford, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2014. BA is survived by his four sons including Jan Edward Pikul the longtime coach of the Yale men's team.

BA was born Oct. 4, 1944 to the late Albert Edward Pikul Sr., and Catherine Anne Pikul in Hartford, CT.
   
BA graduated from Notre Dame of West Haven High School in 1962. He later went on to graduate from Southern Connecticut State University in 1968 with a degree in Political Science. Following his degree, BA chose a career in education where he spent 35 years in the Norwalk Public School system teaching Social Studies and History.  

BA spent many years coaching his sons in multiple sports including baseball and soccer. BA enjoyed skiing, traveling, fishing, and most of all, good times with friends and family. BA was loved by all who knew him, and always had kind words to say when speaking of others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his son Jan, BA is survived by three additional sons, Terrence Pikul, Kristian Pikul, and Eric Pikul, his eight grandchildren, Celidgh Pikul, Samuel Pikul, Alexander Pikul, Terrence (TJ) Pikul, Gunnar Pikul, Benjamin Pikul, Paige Pikul and Emma Pikul, predeceased grandson Nathan Pikul, sister Lorraine Pikul Gilligan, brother Jeffery James Pikul, nephew Sean Donovan, niece Kelly Donovan, great nephew Luke Donovan, and great niece Anna Donovan.

A Funeral Mass will be held Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home. Friends and family may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street Milford, CT 06460.
