Tournament Details
All 16 teams (men and women) from all eight Ivy League universities will be in attendance for the 39th annual 2007 Royall Lyme Ivy League Rugby Championships. For the Men, the 2004 EPRU Division I Collegiate Champions University of Pennsylvania, defending 2004 Ivy League Champions Princeton, and 2005 and 2006 champion Dartmouth will be gunning for the title. The Ivy League's other rugby teams all have a tradition of excellence in rugby including former collegiate national champions Harvard University and strong teams with a long tradition from Brown, Yale, Cornell, and Columbia.
The 2007 Ivy League Rugby Championships will be hosted by the Brown University on April 14th and 15th, 2007 at Glen Farm East Main Road (Route 138) in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Brown has a long tradition of hosting the Ivies dating back to the first championship in 1968.
Admission to the event is free. Concessions will be available at the fields and provided by McGrath Clambakes, Inc. (www.riclambake.com). There will be plenty of bottled water on hand both days of the event for discounted prices. A limited supply of 2007 Ivy Championship T-shirts will be on sale at the tournament tent. T-shirts will be available in an assortment of sizes with a tournament logo on the front crest and the icons of all eight Ivy schools on the back.
