Princeton Men Win in Come-From-Behind Fashion Over Columbia

Saturday, October 26, 2013

In thrilling come-from-behind fashion, the Princeton Men won on their home turf over Columbia. Columbia started fast and was able to jump out to an impressive early lead, seemingly dominating possession with scrappy offensive play and timely penalty kicks. The score was 17-5 at the half.

Two Princeton errors led directly to both Columbia tries and the Columbia goal kicker was deadly in his accuracy slotting two conversions and one penalty kick.

In the second half Princeton found its rhythm and playing catch-up rugby scored three tries and two conversions to win a very hard fought contest 24-20 by a mere 4 points, 24-20.

Notable for Princeton were two freshmen playing in their inaugural matches for the First XV. Freshman Jack Jankowski and Lucas Mazzoti started for Princeton's A-side both playing the entire match.
