Dartmouth Men take care of Princeton 71-10

Saturday, October 24, 2015

The Big Green of Dartmouth (4-0) defeated the Princeton (1-2-1) by a lopsided score of 71-10 on a beautiful but windy West Windsor, New Jersey just off the campus of Princeton University.

DRFC took a 71-0 lead late into the game before Princeton scored two tries to wrap up the contest. Dartmouth was up after a big first half by a score of 50-0. Dartmouth scored 10 tries to two for Princeton.

The Tigers fought hard and arguably outperformed Big Green in the last 20 minutes. Man of the Match for Princeton went to Ali Alami '16, in recognition of excellent front row skills and leadership on the field.

Standouts for Dartmouth included John Abraham ’16 and Andrew Zhu ’16, both with multiple tries, and Hayden Aldredge ’17, who won multiple tough high-balls off of restarts. Dartmouth Captain Jack Braun ’16 was helped off of the field due to a leg injury and was unable to participate in the meet with Penn the next morning.

Dartmouth Looks Ahead

The DRFC has an Ivy League bye this upcoming weekend, but has offered to host Lindenwood as part of their New England October tour. The match will kickoff on Saturday, 10/31 at 9:00 AM at the Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse.

Looking ahead to our remaining Ivy League games, we host Columbia on Saturday, Nov. 7, and we host Harvard on Saturday, Nov. 14, which will likely decide the 2015 Ivy League Champion.
