7s Collegiate Championship Pool Final Results
Harvard and Dartmouth played in the same Pool A with Notre Dame and CAL. Dartmouth came out of the bracket 2-1, while Harvard lost all three of their opening matches. It all starts over today as Dartmouth moves on to the top eight and Harvard to the bottom eight of today's single elimination tournament culminating with nationally televised finals on NBC this evening.
Dartmouth took on heavily favored CAL in the big match on NBC yesterday. Dartmouth took it on the chin a bit falling to the recent 2010 15s national champion 29-0. From Rugbymag.com: "To Dartmouth's credit, they were very feisty in the breakdown and Cal had to send a couple of clearing kicks to touch to relieve the Big Green pressure. But Cal's long, crisp passes from sideline to sideline spread the Dartmouth defense thin, and it was only a matter of time until space around the corners opened up." Look for Dartmouth to do well as they move on to the top eight single elimination tournament today. Harvard is hoping to bounce back after going 0-3 in pool play. The Crimson will try to move through the bottom 8 tournament today.
