Dartmouth Men’s Rugby put in another excellent Fall Ivy Rugby campaign, taking 1st place the Ivy North Division with a record of 5-0-1 and earning a spot in the Spring Ivy Tournament.

The season started off strong with big wins against Yale and Harvard in the first two weekends of the season. In week 3, Dartmouth faced off against a formidable Brown side that played the Big Green to a hard fought 23-23 tie. The Big Green then traveled down to Cambridge to take on Harvard in week 4, gutting out a 31-21 victory over the resurgent Crimson side. Dartmouth put in a great performance against a tough Yale side in week 5, earning a 42-0 victory on Brophy Field. The Ivy North Championship was still up for grabs as Dartmouth took on Brown in Providence to decide which undefeated team would come out ahead in the final standings. The Big Green put in a superb performance, beating Brown 28-5 on a waterlogged pitch to take 1st place in the division. The Big Green ended the season with a cumulative season score of 253 points-for and only 49 points-against.

Following the 15’s season, the Dartmouth Rugby began preparing for the Ivy 7’s tournament in hopes of earning a spot in the 2012 USA Rugby 7’s National Championship.  The Big Green showcased their skills at the Princeton hosted event, defeating Penn 15-5 to win the tournament and take the spot in upcoming National Championship tournament hosted in College Station, TX from November 30-December 1.
