Dartmouth Women with Important Early Win Over Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Dartmouth women’s rugby team won its 2016 Ivy opener Saturday morning at Marvel Field, putting on a dominating performance against Brown that culminated in a 51-18 victory.

Dartmouth traveled to Brown to kickoff the fall season in this Tier 1 matchup. The win pushed the Big Green to 2-1 overall this season as they bounced back from a loss at Army last Friday. The game marked just the second this season for the Bears, whose record now stands at 1-1 following the lopsided 33-point loss at the hands of their conference foes from Hanover.

Womens Ivy Championship: Harvard hosts Dartmouth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's rugby eyes the Ivy Tournament Championship as it hosts Dartmouth at Mignone Field on Sunday, November 6. The tournament features four games throughout the day, with the Crimson playing in the final match against the Big Green at 2:15 p.m.

Brown Women Finish 4th, Cornell 5th - No Challenge

Brown Women were to host Cornell as the Tier 2 champion Big Red was to travel to Providence to take on the Brown Bears.

Cornell did not invoke their right to a challenge match. Cornell remains the Tier 2 champion and will host Penn next weekend in Ithaca. Brown finishes fourth and will play #1 Dartmouth next week at Cory Ford Rugby Clubhouse.

The law amendment trial, known as "Temporary replacement - Head Injury Assessment", or the Pitch Side Concussion Assessment (PSCA), is a global trial in Elite Rugby (Professional/International) ONLY. 

Jim Rogers, Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Referees Society President, reports that, "we're seeing some confusion on this subject, so please pass this along to all teams, coaches, administrators, and trainers. The Pitch Side Concussion Assessment is a trial and does not apply to the US on any level."

Cornell Women defeat Penn in season opener

The Cornell Women traveled to Philadelphia and defeated Penn to take a Tier 2 victory back to Ithaca. The fall season in the Ives starts well for the Bears.

Penn Takes Care of Cornell Men on the Road in Ithaca

Penn Quakers traveled to Pine Tree Road to kickoff the fall Ivy season against the Big Red of Cornell. The Quakers won 22-10.

Cornell playing in white started the match by kicking off to Penn. Cornell controlled early scoring two first half trys, but the wind seemed to be a factor as Penn dominated in the second stanza to win going away. 22-10.
